2017

The Christmas excitement and stress is over with just long winter days to look forward to for the next couple of months. I was quite sad to see the Christmas window displays being taken down when I popped into the two shops on Jan 2nd. It takes weeks to get the lights in the windows and all the Christmas stock out and just a day or so to pack it away for another year.

I miss the sparkle that it all adds to the dark dreary days!

Attention now turns in the shop to preparing for the cold snap that almost certainly awaits us. That means stocking up on the anti-freeze and de-icers for the motorists. We have to ensure we are prepared with the household heaters, pipe lagging and de-humidifiers for the home owners. We also bulk up on car batteries and jump leads for those emergencies that we all hope we don't end up with!

In Perton they were replacing the Christmas stock with the gardening produce that has taken a back seat for the last couple of months. It is a bit early yet but it won't be long before it takes off again. Helen and Toni had got some exciting ideas for a spring/summer window display. If it works out it will look great!

We hope that all our customers had a lovely Christmas and that they have a great new year!

We are looking forward to 2017 and hope to continue serving our customers and community to the best of our ability. We have lots of exciting ideas and some new suppliers lined up for the spring/summer. I am certainly looking forward to the first signs that spring is on its way!
